Leap Store is our own app store app, where you can download new apps and updates of existing apps from Leap Learning. You can think of Leap Store as Leap Learning's alternative to Google Play and Apple's App Store.
To use Leap Store, you need a license. If you're reading this, you've probably got one. If not, contact your project manager or Leap Learning to get assistance.
Leap Store requires an active Internet connection to work.
Before you continue, make sure your device is connected to the Internet.
To open the Leap Store, you first have to open the Leap Launcher settings.
Before you continue, make sure you have read the Leap Launcher settings guide.
In the opening screen, enter your license details provided to you by Leap Learning or your project manager:
Then tap on the Save button
The first time you log in, Leap Store will synchronize with our web server.
Wait for the synchronization to finish.
Once the synchronization is done, you will see a list of all apps that are associated with your license and their corresponding status. You can scroll down to see all the apps.
The apps are organized in categories. To the left in this picture you can see the Swahili Logic apps.
In the Leap Store you can tap 3 different places (see the red numbers in the image):
To see available downloads you can tick the Only show updates box in the top right corner. You will then see which new apps are available for download and which apps have an update.
There are 2 statuses:
Tap on the Download or Update buttons to download the apps.
Once you tap on the Download button, a progress bar and a Cancel button appear. You can tap the Cancel button if you want to abort the download.
Once the download of an app is complete, the red Cancel button will change to a green Install button. Tap the button to install the app.
The first time you install an app through Leap Store, you might get a warning saying:
For security, your phone is set to block installation of apps obtained from unknown sources.
This is to prevent installation of apps which are not downloaded from Google Play. Tap the Settings button to go to settings to allow installation of apps from Leap Learning.
You will be taken to the Security section in System settings.
Tap on Unknown sources to allow installation of Leap Learning apps.
Tap OK in the warning popup that appears.
Tap the back button on your device to go back to Leap Store.
Tap the Install button to install an app.
You will get a popup asking whether you would like to install the app.
Tap the Install button to install it.
Once the app is installed, you will see a confirmation saying App installed.
Tap the Done button to dismiss the message.
You will now see that the new status for the app you have installed has changed to Up to date.
To exit Leap Launcher, tap on the round home button. This will take you to the Leap Launcher, and all new and updated apps will now be available.
